Seaport alliance could expand transparency for all major leases, not just fossil fuel projects
September 9, 2016, The News Tribune
The Northwest Seaport Alliance is considering a policy change for more public meetings before lease approval for future fossil fuel tenants or those that use large amounts of water or electricity.
It is identical to one the Port of Tacoma is considering in the wake of a failed attempt to site a methanol manufacturing plant on the Tacoma Tideflats.
The policy would increase the amount of information available to the public and increase the number of meetings held before the alliance approves a lease related to fossil fuel storage or delivery, or for users of large amounts of water or electricity.
Open house September 14, 2016 for input on rail crossings
September 9, 2016, Edmonds Beacon.com
City of Edmonds representatives and the Edmonds Waterfront Access Study team are inviting the public to weigh in about a narrowed list of potential alternatives for at-grade rail crossings along the Edmonds waterfront at an open house 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14.
It will be held in the Edmonds Library Plaza Room, 650 Main St. It’s the final open house to be hosted by Mayor Dave Earling’s advisory task force before members present their recommendations.
Edmonds has been working with partners to study different ways to improve access to and from the waterfront, including access for emergency responders.
