Port of Skagit soon to control most of Northern State campus

Local officials are picking up speed on the path to redeveloping The Center for Innovation and Technology, also known locally as the Northern State campus.

The Port of Skagit took a big step this week toward assuming control of the property, which is currently state-owned and managed by the Department of Enterprise Services.

The state and Port of Skagit Board of Commissioners agreed Tuesday to lease terms that will bring a portion of the campus under local control next month.

Lumber giant signs 12-year lease at the Port of Vancouver

A lumber giant likely won’t be leaving the Port of Vancouver USA anytime in the next 12 years.

This week, Boise Cascade Building Materials Distribution LLC renewed its lease with the port for at least 12 years, with three additional five-year options. One of about 50 tenants at the port, Boise Cascade leases 20 acres and 77,600 square feet of industrial space.
