Port of Olympia commission approves updated code of conduct policy

After months of deliberation, the Port of Olympia commission on Monday spent exactly four minutes discussing an updated version of the code of conduct policy, and then unanimously approved it.

The speed with which the commission approved the updated version might be a reflection of the new commission and its two newest members — Joe Downing and E.J. Zita — and their willingness to work together.

Frenemies of the State: Port, Seattle continue fight

They’re frenemies.

That’s at least the way the Port of Seattle, and City of Seattle have been acting over the course of the past year, in a series of high profile issues involving public policy.

The latest fight, between two public institutions, may be about to begin.
