Port Angeles airport gets $300,000 from neighbors for new apron

With help from two area airports, William R. Fairchild International Airport should be able to construct a new apron starting this summer.
K-Ply Settlement Agreement Reached for Port’s Cleanup

Port Angeles – Port of Port Angeles commissioners approved the settlement agreement that will pay for the cleanup of the former K-Ply mill site on the PA waterfront.
The port has been working on an expedited cleanup of the site, which was found to be contaminated by petroleum products that likely leaked there over the years.
The agreement actually reimburses the Port’s Insurance Company from both Exxon-Mobile and Rayonier so that the cleanup could be funded without using taxpayer money.
