Uber, Lyft, others get green light for pickups at Sea-Tac

After a long and bumpy road, Uber and its ilk will finally get the chance to legally pick up riders at Sea-Tac Airport.

The Port of Seattle announced Tuesday afternoon that it will launch a one-year pilot program starting March 31, according to a news release.

McMenamins strikes deal with Port of Kalama for new hotel

After years of negotiations, along with the occasional rumor, it’s official: McMenamins is coming to Kalama.

The popular chain announced Wednesday it has agreed to a deal to bring a new $9.8 million hotel to the Port of Kalama. Construction is expected to start this fall or early next year, and the company wants to open the hotel next summer.

Walla Walla tourism director moving on

Walla Walla’s tourism director is packing for a new job.

Ron Peck has accepted a new job as director of tourism development for the Port of Seattle after three years in Walla Walla’s top administrative tourism position.
