Walla Walla airport begins new master plan work

The Walla Walla Regional Airport is embarking on a yearlong master plan development process expected to build a new guiding document for the operation.

Consulting firm Mead & Hunt is collecting information on the airport, according to an update Tuesday during the Port of Walla Walla meeting.

The plan is expected to help draw Federal Aviation Administration support on future projects, thus streamlining improvements. The FAA provides a huge share of funds for Airport Improvement Projects.

Port of Port Angeles director to step down at year’s end

Port of Port Angeles Executive Director Ken O’Hollaren has announced he will step down Dec. 31.

He cited being closer to his grandchildren and an opportunity in the private sector as his reasons for leaving the port.

O’Hollaren and his wife, Denise, plan to make their new home in Clark County in 2016.
