Port of Olympia District 3 candidates share ideas for port’s future

Port of Olympia District 3 candidates E.J. Zita and Jerry Farmer brought their port ideas to The Olympian’s editorial board on Tuesday, touching on subjects they feel will help diversify the port’s operations.

Both candidates, who met separately with the board, shared similar ideas for the port, but differed on other issues, such as the marine terminal.

City Council to sign deal for new boat launch at Evergreen Park

If things go as planned, the rickety old dock at Evergreen Rotary Park won’t be so rickety in six months.

The Bremerton City Council is expected to amend its interlocal agreement with the Port of Bremerton at its Sept. 16 meeting to allow the port to make substantial improvements to the Evergreen Park boat launch.

“This is going to be a benefit for our whole community,” said Greg Wheeler, city council president.

Port of Everett releases video to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of direct aerospace shipments

The Port of Everett has launched a new video in honor of the 10 year anniversary of direct aerospace shipments from Japan to Everett, featuring never-before-seen footage of this critical logistics chain in action.

Working with its key partners and Everett-based Sierra Media, the Port of Everett created the ‘SEA TO SKY’ video to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the journey high value airplane parts take as they travel 5,000 miles from the Port of Osaka, Japan to the Port of Everett, and the final delivery from the Port of Everett direct to the production line at Paine Field Airport.
