Mike Hall & Bill Jaquish Named 2013 Friend of the Port
Kennewick, WA–The Port of Kennewick Board of Commissioners honored Mike Hall and Bill Jaquish, owners of Ice Harbor Brewing Company, and Ice Harbor Brewing at the Marina, with the 2013 Friend of the Port award. During a special commission meeting Tuesday, December 10, 2013, the Port of Kennewick Commissioners presented Messrs. Hall and Jaquish with a plaque in recognition of their work to improve the economic vitality of Clover Island and Historic Downtown Kennewick through operation of their successful brew pubs, as well as their support of music, concerts and public events which attract visitors to Clover Island. Both Hall and Jaquish have been advocates and champions for the revitalization of Kennewick’s waterfront and champions for downtown redevelopment.
“Today, the Port is recognizing two gentlemen who are making an extra effort to help shape our community’s future. As small business owners, these partners undertake all the risks of operating their establishments…and it is our community that receives the reward. By opening their second location on Clover Island, they actively demonstrated a commitment to helping us create a destination waterfront. And, they have understood, supported, and bought into the port’s vision for Columbia Drive. They provide great services to the port’s marina, and offer yet another reason for people to visit the island. Bill and Mike, along with their team of managers and staff, have been outstanding tenants, and their businesses have brought renewed interest to historic downtown,” stated Port Commission President, Skip Novakovich.
Continued Novakovich, “This year we recognize Ice Harbor Brewing Company’s owners Mike Hall and Bill Jaquish, as well as the Ice Harbor Brewing Company staff, for their work to improve the economy and quality of life for our community. They are helping showcase the port’s investments in Clover Island; and our staff and our Commissioners are grateful for their business and their support”.
