The Port of Everett has hired Catherine Soper to manage its digital communications and support the growing demands of the public affairs department. She started on April 1.
Soper will be working on the port’s social media, websites, publications and community outreach programs, among other duties. She reports to the public affairs administrator.
“I’m very excited to begin my new role here at the Port of Everett,” Soper said. “I have had a front row seat to the positive evolution of our thriving waterfront the past few years, from growth in our international shipping activity to major planning developments in the port’s mixed-use Waterfront Place Central development.
“I look forward to joining the public affairs team to enhance our outreach efforts and develop new programs that keep our waterfront community involved.”
Soper was promoted from within the organization. Prior to this role, she administratively supported the seaport and real estate divisions, including facilitation of the port’s event venues.
Soper is a graduate of Central Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and recently completed the Leadership Challenge Program through Leadership Snohomish County.
