The Port of Grays Harbor said a court has approved the Port’s purchase of NewWood Corp.’s assets in a Port-owned building for $1.3 million.

The Port purchased the manufacturing equipment that turns scrap plastic into building materials at a 290,000-square-foot building in the Satsop Business Park. New Wood Corp. has been in receivership since November 2012.

“We are committed to getting the facility up and running and by purchasing these assets we are in a better position to control our own destiny,” Gary Nelson, Port executive director, in a statement.
