Port of Longview Promotes From Within
Combines Information Systems and Procurement
Longview, WA- The Port of Longview is pleased to announce the promotion of Jennifer Brown from Director of Information Services to Director of Administration.
Jennifer joined the Port in 2000 as an Environmental Engineer. She later returned to school receiving her certificate in Management Informations Systems from Washington State University before being named Director of Information Services (i.e. Information Technology) in 2007. In her new role as Director of Administration, Jennifer will remain responsible for the Port’s expansive technology program and initiatives, while assuming responsibility for contracting, purchasing and clerical functions.
“Jennifer’s approach to business makes her a natural fit for this position,” said Port of Longview Chief Executive Officer Geir Kalhagen. “Her combination of education, experience and proactive management style will facilitate positive growth for the Port of Longview.”
Prior to joining the Port, Jennifer was a Project Engineer at Armstrong World Industries and an Air Quality Engineer with Southwest Clean Air Agency. She received her undergraduate degree in Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. Professionally, Jennifer is the Vice-President of the Pacific Northwest Marine Terminals Association and a member of the American Association of Port Authorities Information Technology Committee. Jennifer is also an active board member for Bigfoot Community Events, the local non-profit that plans AshKicker.
