Proposed amendment includes facilities improvements, property development
VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Port of Vancouver USA Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on an amendment to the port’s comprehensive scheme at the board’s regularly scheduled Dec. 9 meeting.
Open session begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Commission Room at the port’s administrative office, 3103 NW Lower River Road, Vancouver. The public hearing on the proposed amendment, which identifies capital expenditures and facility improvements and acquisitions, will be held directly after open session.
Washington state port districts are required by RCW 53.20 to have an official “Comprehensive Scheme of Harbor Improvements and Industrial Development” to communicate with the public about management of port assets.
Like all public agencies, the port is also required to run the proposed amendment through State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) review to identify potential environmental impacts. The public can review SEPA documents and provide written comments to:
Matt Harding, SEPA Responsible Official
3103 NW Lower River Road, Vancouver, WA 98660
The SEPA comment period runs from Nov. 19 to Dec. 5.
