Port of Woodland Poised to Select Holmberg’s Replacement

The Port of Woodland Board of Commissioners will interview candidates to replace departed Director Nelson Holmberg on Monday and hopes to select Holmberg’s replacement after a closed-door meeting Tuesday.


The port has designated Jennifer Keene, Michael Beardsley, Mik Hendrickson and Ruth Linoz as finalists for the position. Hendrickson and Beardsley have previous experience working at ports, Keene has previous government experience and Linoz has served as an executive director in the business world, said Port of Woodland Auditor Carol Moore.


The candidate interviews, which are oprn to the public, will begin at 8:30 a.m. and last until 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Woodland Police Station at 200 East Scott Ave.


The closed-door meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the port office at 115 Davidson Ave. Moore predicted the closed-door meeting will last about 15 to 30 minutes, and the commissioners hope to announce their selection following the Tuesday session.


Holmberg, 47, accepted a job with BergerABAM, which provides consulting services for the maritime industry. His last day at the port was March 14.
