Dear Public Port Colleague,

The new economic realities will require our state’s ports to do things differently than ever before.  With less state support and more competition both nationally and globally…  How do we grow our ports in these new economic times?  How can we work individually and collectively to create local jobs and promote economic prosperity in our communities and our state?

The WPPA Trade and Economic Development Seminar will feature in-depth discussions of these questions and help frame collective strategies for successfully meeting the challenges being faced by ports today.  You’ll hear case studies from folks who have successfully managed some of the most common challenges.  You will be asked to share your own experiences on the greatest challenges of your Port.  You will then have the opportunity to  interact with your peers on a variety of issues such as the nuances of developing a long term strategic plan, the challenges and risks in marketing your port to the needs of today’s tenants, and the tricks of communicating, negotiating and financing in our current economic state.  This format will allow the opportunity to talk with other ports that face similar challenges and help craft strategies for successfully meeting those challenges.

This will be a very interactive learning opportunity with plenty of time for networking, strategizing, and… enjoying the fabulous indoor water park!   Bring your family, and your swimsuit.  The seminar takes place at the Great Wolf Lodge in Centralia.  We blocked out a limited number of rooms for Friday night so you can even stay an extra night at the conference rate and you can REALLY have time to enjoy all the fun!

There are still sponsorship opportunities available for this Seminar:

$1000 sponsorship for our evening reception.  A luau style party to get everyone in the mood for going for a swim, or riding the wave pool, or even braving the wildest water slides.  In addition to being recognized in all printed and electronic information for the Seminar, you’ll receive oral recognition at the event and table space to promote your business (if you request it), along with two free registrations to the seminar.

$500 sponsorships will provide your business with recognition in printed and electronic materials for the seminar, as well as oral recognition and one free registration to the seminar.

Thank you for sponsoring this event!
