GUIDANCE ON COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN PUBLIC MEETINGS ACT & THE PUBLIC RECORDS ACT

Along with Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” Proclamation, he has waived certain requirements for local governments relating to both the Open Public Meeting Act (OPMA) as well as the Public Records Act (PRA). The Attorney General’s Office has issued a summary of Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 20-28 along with general guidance an overview and some suggestions related to the Proclamation. Other sources may become available and we will include them here.

MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT

Local governments have taken advantage of more collaborative approaches to addressing emergency scenarios by entering into Mutual Aid Interlocal Agreements. These agreements provide an avenue for ports (or other governmental entities) to provide or seek assistance allowing for the sharing of equipment, goods, personnel or other services as necessary in the time of emergency operations.
