Jan. 5th Tuesday Roundtable recap: the 2020 Port Awards

Each year, WPPA recognizes the extraordinary achievements of ports across the state in the categories of job creation, community engagement, creative partnership, and environmental stewardship.

Traditionally, we award ports in these categories at our Spring Meeting- but last year, in 2020, the pandemic forced the cancelation of this meeting.

So far, we’ve recognized the Port of Grapeview’s creative partnership with an award presented back in October. We’re ready to present the other three awards for 2020 and begin 2021 on a positive note of port accomplishment that will carry us into a productive future.

On January 5, we awarded ports in the remaining three categories; click the link to see a complete write-up on each of the ports, their accomplishments, and watch a video on their project.

·      Environmental Stewardship: Port of Seattle

·      Community Engagement: Port of Camas-Washougal

·      Job Creator of the Year: Port of Everett

Did you miss the Roundtable? We made a recording of the event you can watch anytime here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fygkjt5u455g74f/2021-01-05_Award_roundtable_recording.mp4?dl=0

We were so pleased to “see” everyone at the first Tuesday Roundtable of 2021. We will be back next week for a membership-focused Roundtable on the upcoming legislative session. You can register for that Roundtable here.

Roundtables held during session will be at 12pm rather than 11am to accommodate the legislative calendar. We look forward to seeing you there.
