Inslee extends proclamation allowing those most at risk from COVID-19 to stay home

Even as counties open up for business as “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” restrictions ease, the coronavirus which causes COVID-19 remains in wide circulation throughout Washington. Those people who are most vulnerable to serious complications from COVID-19 remain at high risk, which is why Governor Inslee extended the proclamation to allow those employees most at risk from COVID-19 to remain socially distant as businesses open.

The proclamation allows those employees in at-risk groups, including those over 65 and/or underlying health conditions to continue to telework, when feasible, or to use their leave to stay at home. Additionally, employers can hire temporary workers to fill in for at-risk employees isolating at home, but prohibits the permanent replacement of at-risk workers.
