Port members represent on important statewide panels
We are excited to announce leaders from our port community have been appointed to two important transportation-focused work groups.
Julianna Marler, CEO for Port of Vancouver USA will be our lead on the Joint Transportation Committee’s Advisory Board for the Statewide Needs Assessment. The Statewide Needs Assessment is designed to set priorities and contemplate alternative revenue options. It is considered an essential building block in preparing for the next new revenue transportation package.
John McCarthy, a Port of Tacoma commissioner, and Leonard Barnes, the Deputy Director of the Port of Grays Harbor, have been appointed to the Freight Stakeholder Group. This 36-member panel is a WSDOT-led effort designed to re-engage freight stakeholders across the state on advancing freight policy and to create vision, mission, and priorities for a Washington State Freight Advisory Committee.
We value our port leaders’ time and commitment to these important efforts. Thank you, Julianna, John, and Leonard for your service to the broader port community.
