Green aviation revolution: Business opportunities built on carbon pricing with Roei Ganzarski, CEO of magniX

Roei Ganzarski, is the CEO of the electric propulsion technology company, magniX. MagniX is described as “poised to disrupt the aerospace and defense industry with advanced electric engines that will enable transportation capabilities and services never possible before.”

In his talk today, Roei detailed the convergence of the “on demand” economy, climate change and emissions concerns, and the aviation industry. In his vision, people will be able to access on-demand aviation for a fraction of the current cost of flying, all while saving the environment from CO2 and other emissions using electric motor energy. Roei’s vision connects rural communities in Washington together using clean-energy aircraft, based on consumer demand for short-range flights at lower prices.

Roei also detailed ways ports can get involved in pushing for inexpensive, electric-powered commuter aircraft to become a reality across the state.

In today’s conversation:

·       The current state of the aviation industry in Washington (and world wide)

·       Why now is a good time to think about investing in the future of transportation infrastructure

·       Ways ports can start partnering together to encourage innovation

Ports have a tremendous opportunity to advance the future through strategic investments in innovative businesses and infrastructure. This conversation presents just such an opportunity, and a look into what is possible for transportation.
