New survey from Northwest RiverPartners underscores the popularity of the Snake River Dams

A new study out from the not-for-profit group Northwest RiverPartners reaffirms that most Pacific Northwest residents supports the use of Snake River dams to provide clean, reliable energy to the region.

By the numbers, the survey found 77 percent of the Washington residents they surveyed supported keeping the dams for the many benefits they bring to their communities- which include carbon-free energy, a reliable electrical grid, low energy costs, and their utility to the agricultural economy of the state.

Indeed, this survey found weak support for removing the dams, with only 29 percent of the respondents replying they would want to see the dams removed.

This survey further highlights the popular support these dams enjoy for a variety of reasons that individual residents and the state economy depend on. The Washington Public Ports Association appreciates that this survey reflects back what our members have long been saying—that these dams provide vital benefits to the communities they serve.
