Tuesday Roundtable recap: Transportation with WSDOT Secretary Roger Millar and Chief Transportation Policy Advisor Debbie Driver
The Washington Public Ports Association was honored to be joined by WSDOT Secretary Roger Millar, together with Governor Inslee’s Chief Transportation Policy Advisor, Debbie Driver to talk transportation. Transportation is going to be one of the most active issues in the upcoming 2021 Legislative Session.
Debbie Driver provided Roundtable attendees a glimpse into the Governor’s transportation priorities and discussed the possibility for a new revenue transportation bill during the coming session.
Secretary Millar gave a detailed presentation on the department’s budget requests, including a 10-year, $10 billion preservation ask, the status of project delivery in the age of COVID-19, WSDOT’s adaptation to a virtual work environment, and their affirmation of the values of diversity, equity and inclusivity within the department.
Today’s Roundtable was the 30th one we’ve held, and the last one for 2020. But don’t worry, we will be back in 2021 with a port award Roundtable on Jan. 5th. From the WPPA to you, we wish you a wonderful holiday season that reconnects you to the magic and wonder life affords us.
A big thank you to this week's Roundtable underwriters, David Evans and Associates. At DEA, they are creating a different future: Engineers, surveyors, planners, hydrographers, landscape architects, and natural resources scientists working together to improve the quality of life while demonstrating stewardship of the built and natural environments.
