Introducing our new Communications Manager

Providing valuable resources, information and advocacy for Ports and their leaders across Washington state is central to our work at the Washington Public Ports Association. That’s why we’re excited to announce the hire of a new Communications Manager, Jessica Wilson, who comes to WPPA with a depth of understanding on effective, user-centered communications for local governments in Washington.

Jessica Wilson previously worked for Office of the Washington State Auditor (SAO), where in her role as the New Media Manager she pioneered the use of data visualizations, podcasts, video, audience-centric report and resource creation. Jessica also co-chaired the Governor’s Office Social Media Summit in 2016.

Most recently, as the Communications Lead for the Center for Government Innovation at SAO, she helped create a new, interactive website, data tools, local government video success stories, and curated suites of resources for local government audiences.

Jessica holds an MBA in marketing and a Master’s of Humanities in Communications; she also has training in user-centered design concepts, Lean performance management and transmedia storytelling.

We welcome you to contact Jessica at jwilson@washingtonports.org with any ideas or suggestions on how the WPPA can improve its communications with you.
